Welcome!

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by our new blog! I'm Ashley from The Teacher's Treasure Chest. I started this collaborative blog to have a place where teachers, could discuss fitness. First and foremost, I want to be clear, I am in no way an "Expert". On this blog, we will talk about different exercises and routines that work or do not work for us :) We will also share recipes and tricks to avoiding those ever so bad junk foods! I just really wanted a place where teachers could discuss the struggles, balances and routines of becoming a healthy person. It's not near as easy as some people think! I personally decided in October, after I kept seeing the same blog post from Erica Bohrer. It was about her fitness routine. For some reason, that post kept popping up alllllll over my Pinterest! So, I checked it out. And I am SO glad I did! My husband was deployed, and we just moved to a new state. I thought, what better time to get myself in shape? You can read more about the beginning of my fitness journey HERE.

I plan on having several collaborators  and while that is still in the work, you can rest assure that you will get to hear from a variety of people who are doing a variety of routines and exercise programs.

One of the things I get the most is "How do you know what kind of exercises to do"....well to be totally honest, when I started, I didn't know. My experience of working out prior to this consisted of going to the gym and walking on the treadmill. And maybe, a little bit of chit chatting with my friends! So this time, I wanted to do something different. That's where the investment of a GOOD trainer comes in. I am very lucky to have found a quality fitness trainer, who knows the information and knows how to work with my "personality" to accomplish the goals. I recommend for anyone who is just starting out, and doesn't have a clear plan, to look for a trainer to get your program going. I've done this fitness thing a time or two, and never have I been this motivated. I thought I "knew" what to do, and I was wrong. What I was doing...wasn't working. So getting a trainer, and getting the right information was a great way for ME to get started.

Here is my progress in pictures so far:

Thanks so much to my sweet friend Tessa from Tales From A Blog Designer for designing this blog! You rock!
Thank you for stopping by! We look forward to chatting with you about your fitness journey, and this adventure that we can do together!

  3. I think you look fabulous. Remember it is all about were you feel healthy, not a size. I am a marathoner and a teacher (2nd-5th grade) and I still wear a size 10. I'd like to lose a little weight, but I will never be a size 6 and I am fine with that. Find where you are happy, because you already look great.

Congrats on your weight loss goal! Stay healthy and feel great!
